I am a gay married man who absolutely loves being a real estate agent.
My husband and I fell in love right out of high school here in Maryland. We eventually moved to New York City where we lived in Queens, Manhattan, and finally settled in Park Slope, Brooklyn for many years. When New York began to recognize same-sex marriages in other states (but still had not legalize it themselves), we cleared our schedules and planned our trip to Connecticut where we eloped at a quaint Bed and Breakfast.
After a few years of marriage, we decided to move to the suburbs (gasp) of New Jersey (gasp) and our adventure to find the perfect home began! This is when I found my love for real estate, landscaping and architecture! Through the many stops and starts I found myself both in love with the process and also critical. I thought I could make buying a home more consistent and enjoyable experience than most home buyers wind up having.
We lived in New Jersey for only a few short months before my husband's job brought us back to the Baltimore/D.C. metro area. I once again got great insight from the process of selling a home and buying one at the same time while relocating to a different state. It was a whirlwind and basically a great learning experience! I got my real estate license soon after moving back to Maryland and have been closing deals ever since. I can help you find a home in any part of Maryland, from the Eastern Shore to the mountains of Western Maryland!
I am also a Certified Agent for the Home Partners of America Program which can be a great option for people relocating to Maryland. Home Partners provides a pathway to homeownership through leasing the home first and buying within 5 years with no commitment to buy at all.
